Okay sports fans, we have the starting line-up for the 1857 Smoking Liberty Quarters. In the recently concluded DLRC Auction 367 four DGS encapsulated examples of the Barbieri Cache of this 152 year old variety sold. As prominent as it is, it amazes me that the variety went unreported until last year!

The plan with these coins was to sell a few of them to established some kind of market so that there is a path to follow. I am pleased to announce that problem-free and problem coins all came in around where I thought they would. Following are the results (including the BP):

• Lot 5552, DGSVF35: $138.00
• Lot 5553, DGSXF40 Cleaned: $81.40
• Lot 5554, DGSXF45: $397.65
• Lot 5555, DGSAU50 Cleaned: $195.50

The really good news now is that Mr. Barbieri is going to offer a few more here. Stay tuned and I will let you know when that happens.
