Varieties: A triple reverse die and a repunched date.

Scarcity: Tough in low grades, G – VF, available in XF, common in AU and above because they were saved as the first year of Issue. In mint state, the most common date of the series with more than twice as many Certified as any other date (see Table 1).
Rarity Rating: G-VG R2+, F/VF R3, XF-AU R1, MS R1.
Total MS PCGS/NGC = 468 (Ranking 73/73)
Total PRF PCGS/NGC = 263 (Ranking 24/24) = 21.1% of mintage
Comments: As the first year of issue this coin comes well struck with nice luster. As of June 1991 there were a total of 44 certified MS65, 15 MS66 and 5 MS67 by PCGS and NGC combined.
