Every now and then, while conducting research on the internet, I come across a website that is so useful that I bookmark it (add to favorites) and refer to it over and over. Today I found such a site and I like it so much I want to share it with all interested parties.

First, the background on how I stumbled across this one. I was looking at a gold Mexican peso (NOT!) with identification in mind since it was nowhere to be found in Krause. In this case, I knew the coin was actually a token so I began an internet search on Google for “1865 Mexican Token.” Right there at the top of the list was exactly what I was looking for. As it turns out, the site is simply called “Mexico Gold Tokens” and is maintained by Andy Gunderson. I don’t know Mr. Gunderson but I do know Don Bailey and it was clear to me that Don has been of assistance with the information on the site. It is an awesome attribution site of all things that fall under the heading of “Mexican Gold Tokens.” I was especially interested in the Maxmilian tokens and found that not only could I easily find all the info I wanted, they even have them listed by country of origin! Yes, several countries have been known to strike these tokens. On top of that, I found that I could actually assign an attribution number to the one I had in hand!

The site is simple, well organized and exceptionally useful if you collect these cool little gold goodies. I like to think of them as “Cal Gold Mexican Style.” Check it out!
